What is Chainmaille?

You’re probably looking at that question and wondering ‘how the heck do you pronounce that?’ And I’m sure your second question is ‘what is it?’ Well, there are two different ways to pronounce the word. The word as its seen above is also spelled, ‘chainmail’, this commonly refers to armor, but can also refer to jewelry. It’s made by linking rings together to form various patterns. From an armor standpoint, chainmail is constructed the same way, but is often not as strong when done this way. The strongest type of construction for chainmail armor is to rivet the rings together, this prevents them from being cut apart easier once they’re joined. It makes for a better constructed armor, examples of which can be seen in some museums to this day.

What makes The Craftorium’s items so unique?

It all comes down to the blending of the different chainmaille styles together. When I embarked on this mad journey, I thought it only made sense to combine different styles. That’s what makes every piece from the Silveroak Craftorium stand out, and why I never make the same piece twice and never will. Because there are thousands, no, hundreds of thousands of different chainmaille weaves in existence. With such a variety to choose from, why would anyone do it differently? The other thing that makes the Silveroak Craftorium’s items so unique is that they are guaranteed for life. If at any point you lose a bead or catch the piece on something and it bends or breaks, send it back to me free of charge and I’ll repair it.
